Eurydice, by Sarah Ruhl—one of the most prominent voices in contemporary American theatre—reimagines the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice from Eurydice’s point of view. This poetic masterpiece sheds light on loss, memory, love, and a woman’s voice within a male-dominated society.
This production marks the first collaboration between Theatre Iridescence and Dance Company JAZZcolle.Interweaving theatre, dance, music, and spatial art, it offers a one-of-a-kind experience that transcends borders and genres—a performance that can only exist here and now. 現代アメリカ演劇を代表する劇作家サラ・ルールによる『Eurydice（エウリュディケ）』は、ギリシャ神話「オルフェウスとエウリュディケ」を妻エウリュディケの視点から再構築した詩的な傑作です。喪失、記憶、愛、そして男性優位社会における女性の声に光を当てています。

Sasha MacPherson (Eurydice)
スコットランド・グラスゴー出身の女優。Glasgow Kelvin Collegeで演技を、West of Scotland大学で映像演技を学ぶ。BBCのドキュメンタリーや短編映画に出演し、長編映画『The Defender』（STV Playerで配信中）では主演を務めた。舞台では『ロミオとジュリエット』（マーキューシオ／シチズンズ・シアター）、『ユダの最後の日々』（サタン）、『アグネス・オブ・ゴッド』（アグネス）、『グレンギャリー・グレン・ロス』（ベイレン）、『Make Me』（バイ／エディンバラ・フリンジ）などに出演。10年のブランクを経て、Theatre Iridescenceの仲間とともに再び舞台に立てることを心から楽しみにしている。
Sasha MacPherson is a Scottish actress from Glasgow. She trained in Acting and Performance at Glasgow Kelvin College and Screen Acting at the University of the West of Scotland. Her work includes BBC documentaries, short films, and the award-winning feature The Defender, now streaming on STV Player. Stage credits include Romeo and Juliet (Mercutio, Citizens Theatre), The Last Days of Judas Iscariot (Satan), Agnes of God (Agnes), Glengarry Glen Ross (Baylen), and Make Me (Bai, Edinburgh Fringe). After a 10-year break, she is thrilled to return to the stage with Theatre Iridescence.
Tomonori Niwa・丹羽智則 (Father)
名古屋を中心としてナレーター、声優、俳優としてTV、映画、ラジオ、舞台などで幅広く活動している。現在は、円頓寺商店街にあるカブキカフェナゴヤ座にて名古屋参駄右衛門としても出演中。歌舞伎や殺陣をとりいれたエンタテインメントショーを毎週行っている。
Based in Nagoya, Tomonori Niwa works across television, film, radio, and stage as a narrator, voice actor, and performer. Currently appearing as “Nagoya Sandaemon” at Kabuki Café Nagoya-za in Endoji, he performs in a weekly show that blends elements of kabuki and sword fighting.
Kory Alexander (Orpheus)
Kory Alexander（コリー・アレクサンダー／they/them）は、ニューヨーク出身で日本在住のパフォーマー、作家、演出家、演劇教育者。コロンビア大学とMaggie Flanigan Studioで学び、実験的な演劇グループ「Coat Rack」を設立。現在はNagoya Players Junior Showcaseで脚本・演出を担当。主な作品に『the marble moons of gakki-machi』、『Strange Animals and Plastic Figures』（NYシアターフェス）、『The Experience Box』（メイン州劇作家フェス）、出演作に『Secret Identity』（TOSOS）、『ロミオとジュリエット』（Nagoya Players）など。詩は『Paris Lit Up』（2023年）に掲載。
Kory Alexander (they/them) is a New York-born performer, writer, director, and theatre educator based in Japan. A graduate of Columbia University and Maggie Flanigan Studio, they founded the experimental theatre group Coat Rack and currently direct and write for the Nagoya Players Junior Showcase. Credits include the marble moons of gakki-machi, Strange Animals and Plastic Figures (NY Theater Festival), The Experience Box (Maine Playwrights Festival), Secret Identity (TOSOS), and Romeo and Juliet (Nagoya Players). Their poetry was published in Paris Lit Up (2023).
Rachel Lynn Sweeney (Nasty Interesting Man/ The Child)
インディアナ州エバンズビル出身。小学生の頃から演劇に関わり、マレー州立大学でパフォーマンスを専攻。その後ロサンゼルスに拠点を移し、映像制作の現場で働きながら、The GroundlingsとThe Actor's Gangで即興劇やコンメディア・デッラルテを学ぶ。これまでの主な出演作に『The House of Yes』（ジャッキー＝O／Rogue Stage Project）、『エンジェルス・イン・アメリカ：ペレストロイカ』（ハーパー・ピット／Dark Horse Theater）、『ヘッダ・ガーブレル』（ヘッダ／Rogue Stage Project）などがある。Theatre Iridescenceへの出演は今回が2回目となる。
Originally from Evansville, Indiana, Rachel Lynn Sweeney has been involved in theatre since elementary school. She studied performance at Murray State University and later moved to Los Angeles, where she worked behind the camera and trained in improvisation and commedia dell’arte at The Groundlings and The Actor's Gang. Notable roles include Jackie-O in The House of Yes (Rogue Stage Project), Harper Pitt in Angels in America: Perestroika (Dark Horse Theater), and Hedda in Hedda Gabler (Rogue Stage Project). This marks her second production with Theatre Iridescence.
Shea Layton (Big Stone)
シェイ・レイトンはアメリカ・モンタナ州出身で、愛知に移住してから8年になります。高校時代に演劇に興味を持ち、『The Boys Next Door』ではルシアン・P・シンガー役を務めました。その後しばらく舞台から離れていましたが、即興劇を通じて演技への情熱を再発見し、現在は名古屋でプライベートなインプログループを主宰しています。今回が、シアターカンパニー「Theatre Iridescence（シアター・イリデセンス）」への初参加となります。
Shea Layton is originally from Montana, USA, and has lived in Aichi for the past eight years. He began acting in high school, with roles including Lucian P. Singer in The Boys Next Door. After a break from theatre, he rediscovered his passion through improv and now runs a private improv group in Nagoya. This is his first production with Theatre Iridescence.
Steph Patterson (Loud Stone)
イギリス出身。幼少期からダンスや合唱、演劇を通じて舞台に親しみ、パフォーミングアーツの学位を取得。British Action Academyでスタントファイトの基礎も学ぶ。来日後は、Coat Rack Theatreによる『The Marble Moons of Gakki Machi』をはじめ、さまざまな舞台プロジェクトに参加。現在はアマチュア劇団「Bards in Solidarity」を主宰し、仲間とともにミニ公演を行っている。Theatre Iridescenceへの参加は今回が初めて。
Originally from England, Steph began performing at a young age through dance, choir, and theatre. They hold a degree in performing arts and trained in basic stunt fighting at the British Action Academy. In Japan, they’ve taken part in various projects, including The Marble Moons of Gakki Machi (Coat Rack Theatre). Steph also leads their own amateur theatre group, Bards in Solidarity. This is their first production with Theatre Iridescence.
Akemi Lima (Little Stone)
ブラジル生まれ育ちのアケミは、日本にルーツを持ち、来日して3年になる。高校ではファッションを学ぶ一方で、幼い頃から演技に情熱を持ち、『白雪姫』（グランピー役）や中国神話を題材にしたダンスパフォーマンスなど、学校の舞台に出演。来日後はNagoya Playersの『ロミオとジュリエット』（アンサンブル）に参加し、Coat Rack Theatreによる『The Marble Moons of Gakki Machi』ではカストディアン役を務めた。Theatre Iridescenceへの出演は今回が初めて。
Born and raised in Brazil, with Japanese heritage, Akemi has been living in Japan for three years. She studied fashion in high school but has long had a passion for acting, performing in school productions such as Snow White (Grumpy) and a dance piece inspired by Chinese mythology. In Japan, she appeared in Romeo and Juliet (ensemble, Nagoya Players) and played a custodian in The Marble Moons of Gakki Machi (Coat Rack Theatre). This is her first production with Theatre Iridescence.
Leoni Anggela (Understudy)
インドネシア出身のレオニは、音楽やオペラへの関心を背景に、2022年から演劇の世界に足を踏み入れる。以来、舞台と舞台裏の両方で経験を積み、『Lightbulb』（グレイシー役／KPB Theater）、『Untolled』（Nagoya Players／小道具）、『ロミオとジュリエット』（ベンヴォーリオ役／Nagoya Players）などに参加。本公演ではTheatre Iridescenceのアンダースタディとして参加し、さらなる表現力の向上を目指している。
Originally from Indonesia, Leoni began exploring theatre in 2022, building on her long-standing interest in music and opera. She has since taken on both onstage and backstage roles, including Gracie in Lightbulb (KPB Theater), props crew for Untolled (Nagoya Players), and Benvolio in Romeo & Juliet (Nagoya Players). She joins Theatre Iridescence in this production as an understudy to further develop her craft.
Kevin Nguyen (Understudy)
アメリカ出身のケビンは、長年舞台から離れていた中で、改めて演劇への情熱を再認識する。現在は名古屋を拠点に、地域の演劇コミュニティと深く関わりながら、俳優業から翻訳・字幕制作まで幅広い分野で活動中。これまでに『Lightbulb』（字幕デザイン・オペレーション／KPB Theatre）、『Betrayal』（字幕デザイン・オペレーション／Theatre Iridescence）、『怪盗ブルー・ラディアント～偽りの月光～』（ジャスパー役／Keep Dreaming）、『金稼ぎのペテル』（ドミ・パラディ役／アクションプロデュースカンパニーRE-act）などに携わっている。
Originally from the USA, Kevin rediscovered his passion for theatre after many years away from the stage. Now based in Nagoya, he has become an active member of the local theatre community, contributing both onstage and behind the scenes. His work includes subtitle design and operation for Lightbulb (KPB Theatre) and Betrayal (Theatre Iridescence), as well as acting roles in Blue Radiant: The Phantom Thief (Jasper, Keep Dreaming) and Peteru the Money Maker (Domi Paradi, RE-act).
