Theatre Iridescence is pleased to announce auditions for their 2019 production, Speaking in Tongues. Written by Australian playwright Andrew Bovell, Speaking in Tongues is a powerful exploration of marriage, betrayal and the perpetuity of love. Over the course of 90 enthralling minutes, it maps an emotional landscape of disconnection and shifting moral codes, all underscored by a murder-mystery.
With a cast of four playing nine different roles and under the helm of director Michael Walker, Speaking in Tongues offers actors a unique opportunity to delve into the deepest part of their craft, and move beyond the standard community theater performance.
Theatre Iridescence, which has produced the works Transit (2017) and Medea (2018), is committed to creating works that celebrate and push the boundaries of theatre.
Auditions will involve an individual and group component. Everyone is asked to attend a Saturday morning group session, after which will be individual auditions.
A callback session will be held on Sunday morning for selected actors in order to work more closely with each other and the director.
Please be sure to be in the waiting area outside the room at Achtenon ten minutes prior to the start of your audition slot.
